Special Event Design
PROJECT: SPECIAL EVENTS - 75th ANNIVERSARY (2005)
CLIENT: INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED STUDY

SP STUDIOS designed and produced a series of invitation packages (invitation, reply cards, outer and reply envelopes) for each of the schools at the renowned Institute for Advanced Study to celebrate the Institute’s 75th Anniversary. Creating original photography of the campus, and digitizing the 1930s sculptural-relief medallion (created in 1930 by Pierre Turin), SP Studios used iconic imagery, unique asymetric tri-panel design-form, and metallic inks to code each school and their invitation and program materials - blue for mathematics, orange/copper for historical studies, green for natural science, etc. The Mathematics event was so successful, it garnered a cover-article in “Notices of the American Mathematical Society” in which the event invitation was reproduced (p.859) – and an additional mention specifically calling out the event branding and visuals and applauding it’s cohesive design (p.840).
